Hardscaping

Hardscaping, as it relates to a Poolscape, by definition is everything other than the pool, that isn’t the ground or softscapes. It involves concrete, Pavers, Retaining walls and virtually anything else that is not part of the natural landscape or landscaping.

In this geographic region natural and sometimes substantial contours in elevation require the use of retaining walls, or other land retention methods, along with the use of steps and stairs to transition betwen elevations of a pool or patio area. Today's yards have also become smaller and smaller. A retaining or sitting wall can help to define an area, and often times can also be used to level some of the yard and make the yard itself a more usuable space.  A retaining wall, no matter how tall is a serious construction project.  An understanding of soil conditions, surcharges, drainage and the potential need for geotextiles is critical. The site conditions will also dictate the location and height of the wall or walls and the type of block that should be used. Admiral Enterprises of MD is NCMA certified in the Installation of Modular Retaining walls and ICPI Certified in the Installation of concrete Pavers.

At Admiral we are the Contractor and Installer. Hardscaping, like your Pool, Lighting and Fence installation is supervised by our own Staff and installed by our own crews. Hardscaping is often times, but not always a significant part of a Pool installation, and because we are a Hardscape Contractor\installer we do many Hardscape installations that are unrelated to a swimming pool and would be happy to work with you on any hardscape installation regardless of the size. so please contact us with any questions, or to schedule an appointment.
