Problems That Pool Lights Can Encounter

Today, we’ll be reviewing common issues your pool lights might experience.

If you have a pool, you can enhance your swimming experience by adding some pool lights into the mix. Pool lighting not only makes your pool look nicer, but it can also make your pool a safer place to be. Unfortunately, like with any type of electrical item, pool lights can run into problems as time goes on. Today, we’ll be reviewing common issues your pool lights might experience.

Bulb Failure

Pool lights are designed with bulbs that are built to be used underwater. While these bulbs can work for quite a while, there will come a time when they get damaged and burn out. This means there will be less light illuminating your swimming pool.

Water Leakage

Usually, when you get pool lights, those lights are sealed so that water is unable to get into them. Unfortunately, these seals can sometimes get damaged in some way. Once the seals are damaged, water is able to get inside of your pool lighting. This can cause damage to your lights and prevent them from working properly.

Corrosion

Since your pool will be filled with water, as well as a few chemicals, your pool lights will be susceptible to corrosion after a while. Once your lights have corroded, they could start malfunctioning, which prevents them from working as effectively. Sometimes, your lights will stop working entirely, which would mean you should get your lights replaced.
